After an exceptionally cold and snowy December, the remainder of the winter was rather less eventful and the lack of sunshine throughout the whole winter made it feel particularly long and miserable!
It was the sixth coldest winter in my 37 years of records.
Rainfall was average. There were many frosts in December and relatively few in January and February.
